“Feynman Diagram” began as a portion of a live performance at the newly-rechristened Digital Underground in Philadelphia. Originally an experiment with drone oscillators and analog delay, the overtones produced by the drone eventually suggested the piano chords: the spoken-word snippets hinted an oblique directive as to dynamics.
